This Page reflects my interest in the history of the Devon town,  an ancient Stannary borough on the southern edge of Dartmoor. It is intended to illuminate its part in the greater currents of the times, and how they played out for the inhabitants of the parish. Some of the contents relate to my work as a trustee of the Ashburton History Museum (and readers may like to look at the Museum's Facebook page for more details).
